Rockit Bar and Grill:

General Manager

Rockit Ranch Productions is looking for a General Manager for Rockit Bar and Grill, River North’s most loved restaurant/bar.

With a restaurant and a lounge- the ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing food and alcohol sales, hosting VIP’s, and driving sales, marketing, and attendance with a national spotlight.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of sanitation laws and regulations
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
Awareness of Chicago restaurant and culinary scene
Has managed a security team before

Skills:

At least 2-3 years of experience in a General Management position for a high volume, fast paced environment
Experience managing a team
Ability to balance venue operations responsibilities as well as administrative and accounting tasks
Attention to detail
Ability to work late night and weekend hours

Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

Rockit Bar and Grill- Sous Chef

Accountabilities: Must be willing and able to:

Be an active team player
Understand and follow supervisor’s instructions
Acquire and wear uniform prescribed in training manual
Maintain and clean uniform
Maintain a well-manicured appearance and personal that reflects the established image of the restaurant
Perform under more than average stressful conditions
Make appropriate judgment calls under stressful conditions

Qualifications Standards:

Refer a minimum of 3 years full service restaurant experience or the equivalent.

Must be willing and able to:

Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Self-motivator
Project a friendly, courteous and pleasant attitude
Get along with co-workers
Provide a clean, well-manicured persona that reflects the established image of the restaurant
Sufficiently master English to respond properly to questions and directions
Stand and/or walk for entire shift
Work a variable and flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays

Security:

Job Summary: Provide 100% support and commitment to running and managing an effective and efficient security team maintaining appearance, punctuality, positive attitudes and excellent customer care.

Performance Requirements: The following are intended as basic requirements. Success will come to the individual that is able to expand upon these job requirements and truly “make it happen.” These requirements may change over the course of employment.

Oversee security operation during business hours and work with general manager to communicate needs of the security team
Work with general manager to ensure all security staff are receiving adequate training
Complete incident reports should any injuries or incidents occur
Maintain and manage radios and necessary equipment
Provide an elevated level of customer service to all guests
Ensure safety standards and capacity laws are being met
Ensure safety of all staff and guests

Servers

We are looking for experienced servers:

Have a minimum of 1 year full service high volume restaurant experience or the equivalent.
Enjoy the River North area as much as we do! Most of us not only visit the bars here, but we live in the neighborhood.
Open schedule, as roles can be part-time or full-time. We are open 4 days a week. Thursday – Sunday 5pm -4 am
